Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang's Remarks on the Resignation of Nepali Prime Minister Oli
2016/07/28

Q: It is reported that on July 24th, Nepal's Prime Minister announced his resignation facing a no confidence vote on the government in the Nepali parliament. What is China's response?

A: China has taken notice of the situation in Nepal. As a neighbor and friend, we sincerely hope that all Nepali parties would prioritize state and national interests and commit themselves to the stability and development of Nepal. China and Nepal share weal and woe. No matter what happens on the international stage and inside our two countries, the grand direction of China-Nepal friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation will not change.
