With the long-lasting spreading of COVID-19, the effective control of the virus at an early date has become the earnest aspiration of the international community. Vaccine is the most powerful weapon for mankind in this fight, making ensuring vaccine equity and accessibility of great significance.

China firmly supports international efforts and cooperation on fighting against the pandemic, including vaccine R&D and equitable distribution. Chinese President Xi Jinping solemnly declared on several occasions that China's vaccines will be a global public good, making China's contribution to the realization of the availability and affordability of vaccines in developing countries. China has delivered on its commitments, and first joins Access to COVID-19 Tools Accelerator initiative, joins and supports the COVAX and recently decided to provide 10 million doses of vaccine to the COVAX to meet the urgent needs of developing countries. We have provided vaccine assistance to 53 developing countries at their request, and have exported and are exporting to 22 countries. We support domestic companies in conducting joint R&D and manufacturing with foreign partners. At the same time, by leveraging the strength of our industrial chains, we support and assist others in manufacturing vaccine products in China or their own countries in a bid to boost global production capacity. China applauds UN Secretary-General Guterres' proposal of a global vaccination plan, and supports the Secretary-General's efforts to realize vaccine equity and accessibility. We also decide to participate in the UN's Group of Friends initiative to donate vaccines to UN peacekeepers.

The virus respects no borders. No single country should be left behind in the fight against the virus. In carrying out international cooperation on COVID-19 vaccines, China seeks to make the vaccines truly a global public good that is accessible and affordable to everyone. We will continue to strengthen cooperation with all other countries to defeat the virus as soon as possible.
