Dialogue on Higher Education

        The Fourth Sino-Finland Forum on Higher Education, jointly hosted by China Education Association for International Exchange and the Finnish Rector's Association, was held on 27 May at Aalto University. H.E. Mr. Huang Xing, Chinese Ambassador to Finland, and Ms. Kaija Holli, Rector of Tampere University and the chairperson of the the Finnish Rector's Association  attended the forum and delivered speeches.

        Ambassador Huang Xing extended cordial congratulations and expressed firm support to the forum. He pointed out that cooperation and exchanges in higher education sector is an important area of cultural and educational exchanges. Enhanced international cooperation and exchanges in higher education sector is of great importance to the intellectual inheritance and knowledge dissemination of human society, the co-existence and mutual learning of different civilizations, as well as common prosperity and development across the world. China and Finland have their own advantages and characteristics in higher education sector. It is important for both countries to exploit respective advantages and strengthen cooperation.

        At present, over 20 Chinese universities have established cooperative relations with universities in Finland. Senior representatives from eight Chinese univeristies such as Beijing Foreign Studies Uiniversity, Beijing Normal University, Nankai University, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Zhejiang Normal University, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, as well as Rectors of Tampere University, Aalto Univeristy and Turku University attended the forum. Chinese university delegation also visited Oulu University and Lapland University to seek opportunities for future cooperation.
