Helsinki Festival Focus China is about to begin

The 48th Helsinki Festival will be held in Helsinki from August 14-30, 2015. This year’s events will focus on Chinese culture.

Started in 1968, Helsinki Festival is currently the largest cultural event series in the Nordic countries, organized annually in late summer. It attracts about 200, 000 audiences every year. China will be the Guest of Honor for the 2015 Helsinki Festival. This is the first time for Helsinki Festival to have a particular country as the Guest of Honor, and will be the largest Chinese cultural event organized in Finland since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

There will be 20 programs of Focus China, covering music, dance, drama, acrobatics, film and folk art, accounting for one third of the Festival programs this year. More than 400 actors will participate in this event, to make a widest showcase of Chinese art.
