|Spouse of the Chinese Ambassador Mme. Qin Sa Arranges a Visit to "The Forbidden City" Exhibition for IWCH|
On September 19th, 2017, Mme. Qin Sa, Spouse of the Chinese Ambassador to Finland, arranged a visit to “The Forbidden City” exhibition at Vapriikki museum in Tampere for members from the International Women’s Club of Helsinki.
This is an exhibition co-organized by the Palace Museum in Beijing and the City of Tampere. There are altogether 100 imperial collections like paintings, calligraphy, ceramics and antiquities on display in the Nordic area for the first time from April to October, especially for the centenary of Finland’s independence in 2017.
All the visitors were happy to have the privilege of being invited to this exhibition to see many priceless objects that are rarely shown outside of China. They found it a great opportunity to see magnificent imperial objects as well as the architecture of the Forbidden City, the emperor’s duties, the imperial army, entertainment of the court, rituals, women’s position, and the role of concubines and eunuchs, which had deepened their understanding of China’s history and culture.
