Chinese Embassy in Finland Celebrates the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China
On September 30, 2009, the Chinese Embassy in Finland held a grand reception to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and to welcome the newly posted H.E. Ambassador HUANG Xing. Present at the reception were president of the Supreme Administrative Court Pekka Hallberg, Minister for Foreign Affairs Alexander Stubb, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sirkka-Liisa Anttila, Chief of Defence Command Lieutenant General Markki Koli, State Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office Risto Volanen, senior government officials and foreign diplomats. Friends from all walks of life, local Chinese communities, representatives of Chinese companies and Chinese scholars and students in Finland also took part. In total, about 700 guests attended the reception.

In his remarks, H.E. Ambassador Huang summarized the major achievements and progress that China made in the past 60 years along with the contribution to the world's politics, economy, peace and development. Ambassador Huang spoke highly of the Sino-Finland relationship; expressed his sincere appreciation to the Finnish government and Finnish people as well as the Chinese community, Chinese overseas companies, scholars and students in Finland for their unremitting efforts to promote the Sino-Finland relationship. Ambassador Huang also noted that he will do his best to bring the bilateral relations to a new high by seizing the opportunities of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between China and Finland as well as Finland's participation in the World Expoto be held in Shanghai 2010.
