H.E. Ambassador Huang, at the invitation of His Worship, Dr. Petteri Paronen, Mayor of Kuopio, made a friendly visit to Kuopio on October 1 and 2, 2009.

 

During the visit, Ambassador Huang met with Dr. Petteri Paronen, Mayor of City of Kuopio and Chairman of the Board of Kuopio Innovation Ltd., Mr. Pauli Kurkirinne, Director of Administration and Personnel of City of Kuopio, Prof. Katri Vehviläinen-Julkunen, Vice Rector of University of Kuopio, Ms Anna Pitkäinen, Director of Kuopio Dance Festival, and discussed with them extensively on the further development of the communication and exchange of the city with its Chinese counterparts in the areas of innovation and culture.

 

Ambassador Huang delivered an opening speech to around 100 guests at the opening ceremony of the Zhangjiang – Finland Photo Exhibition in Technopolis.  Ambassador Huang also visited Kuopio Science Park and interacted with representatives from Kuopio Innovation Ltd., Fennopharma, Reagena and Medikro, which have set up business connections with China already.
