HE Mr. Huang Xing, Ambassador of China, was invited to attended the 2nd Sino-Finland Forum on Higher Education 2011 and delivered a keynote speech on Monday, 19 September 2011.
Prof. Seppo Hölttä, the head of Higher Education Group (HEG) of University of Tampere, chaired the session. Prof. Krista Varantola, Chancellor of University of Tampere, delivered a welcoming speech.
In his speech, titled "Innovative Trend in China and in Sino-Finnish Relations", the Ambassador focused his speech on, the evolution of the Sino-Finnish relationship, China's development, China's plan for the future, and possibilities for future cooperation between China and Finland. In conclusion, he said China and Finland should enhance joint efforts to open a new chapter for the bilateral relations by deepening Sino-Finnish relationship at strategic height, deepening economic and trade cooperation, striving to create highlights in cultural and higher education, supporting people-to-people exchange.
The theme of the forum is "Transformation of Higher Education in Innovation Systems". The forum lasted 2 days from 19-20 September, and more than 60 representatives from Finnish Ministry of Education, Peking University, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Technology, Hong Kong University, Chinese Higher Education Evaluation Center, University of Tampere, University of Helsinki etc attended the forum.
